For my third rotation I have been, doing photography.
We had to choose a story for our photography. I had chosen to do Economics for my photography. Coming from a run down town in Essex I have seen the town be full of shops in the town to having the high street become a ghost town.
So I decided I would take my black and white shots in Ipswich. As the high streets show some stores running down or closed down while down the street there are shops flourishing with business.
What I liked about doing this unit was exploring with using the film development chemicals, making to contact prints, and the black and white prints.
I found taking the images a bit nerve racking as I wanted the images to come out as best they can. so I had to take the images in such awkward positions to make sure the needle was dead horizontal. I had managed to take around 20 black and white shots along with 10 -15 coloured digital photos.
I had chosen 4 black and white prints and 5 digital photos edited to grey-scale.
The 4 black and white prints i had chosen where:
1) Little Sainsbury's street
2) Butter Market Street
3) Jonathan James Store
4) New vs Old (new 11 plate car next to a bordered up building)
and the 5 Digital photos where:
1) Bordered up Purple pub
2) Cash Exchange Vs 2 Close Shops
3) Graffiti Memorial
4) To Let Building
5) Shop To Let
If I was to do this workshop again I would of spent more time taking more photos on the SLR Camera and got some better shots, and had experimented with hight, Positions, locations and f-stops.
